30 September hearings: Andriukaitis, Moedas, Hahn, Avramopoulos, Šefčovič and Stylianides

Vytenis Andriukaitis, Carlos Moedas, Johannes Hahn, Dimitris Avramopoulos, Maroš Šefčovič and Christos Stylianides are the next candidate commissioners to appear at the European Parliament for three-hour long interviews. Their competences and knowledge will be tested today by the relevant parliamentary committees. The hearings of nominees for the new Juncker Commission started yesterday with candidate commissioners Cecilia Malmström, Günther Oettinger, Neven Mimica and Karmenu Vella. Click here for a recap on Storify of yesterday's (29 September) events. The hearings will come to an end on 7 October. Today, 30 September, the following hearings take place (all times are CET):
Vytenis Andriukaitis, the Lithuanian nominee for health and food safety, will be heard by the public health and food safety committee from 9h. Live stream here. Portugal's Carlos Moedas is commissioner-designate for research, science and innovation. He will be heard by the industry and research committee. Follow live here.
Johannes Hahn from Austria, is the commissioner-designate with responsibility for the European neighbourhood policy and enlargement negotiations. His hearing by the Parliament's foreign affairs committee starts at 13h30 and can be followed here.
Dimitris Avramopoulos, the commissioner-designate for migration and home affairs from Greece, will be heard by the civil liberties and home affairs committee. You can follow his hearing here from 13h30. Maroš Šefčovič from Slovakia will also have his turn at 18.00 today. As commissioner-designate for transport and space, his hearing by members of the transport committee can be followed here.Cypriot Christos Stylianides has been assigned the humanitarian aid and crisis management portfolio in the new Commission.
