Eurostat has released the 2026 edition of Key figures on European living conditions. With insightful visuals and short text, this publication outlines the key findings on living conditions in the EU, with a special focus on its most vulnerable groups.

The first chapter explores income distribution and social and financial disparities. The second chapter looks at household characteristics, work intensity and childcare. The final chapter examines health, the living conditions of people with disabilities and life satisfaction. This edition also includes a new set of indicators, taking a closer look at housing costs, homecare services and lifestyle choices.

Did you know that 92.7 million people across the EU were at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2025? Or that 8.0% of people younger than 65 lived in households with very low work intensity? Did you know that, in all EU countries, people with disability faced a higher risk of poverty or social exclusion? Read the new edition of Key figures on European living conditions and learn more.
