Germany's gas situation is tense and could worsen, regulator says

Germany has a stable gas supply, but it is tense and could get worse, Germany's network regulator stated after Russia's Gazprom (GAZP.MM.) extended the outage of Nord Stream 1.
Russia canceled a Saturday (3 September) deadline for the pipeline to resume flow, claiming that it discovered an oil leak in a turbine during maintenance.
In its daily gas situation report, the regulator stated that "the defects alleged by Russia are not technical reasons for the halting of operations".
