Commissioner Simson in Denmark to discuss #EuropeanEnergyPolicy
Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson (pictured) is visiting Denmark on 6 and 7 February as part of the Commission's drive to promote the European Green Deal and engage with citizens and stakeholders.
Ahead of her visit, Commissioner Simson said: “Denmark is at the forefront of the EU's clean energy transition and is an example for others to follow. I am looking forward to seeing the transformation of the energy sector in practice in Esbjerg and Avedøre. My visit will also be an opportunity to discuss the European Green Deal with civil society and stakeholders, and a chance to explore how innovative Danish ‘cleantech' can support further decarbonisation of the energy sector.”
She will meet Climate, Energy and Utilities Minister Dan Jørgensen, as well as members of the Danish Parliament's EU Affairs Committee and the Committee for Climate and Energy. In addition, she will take part in a Citizens' Dialogue with students at Aalborg University in Esbjerg. During her stay, she will visit Esbjerg Harbour, including the Horns Rev windmill park, and the Avedøre Power Station. More information is available online.
