Brussels media complain at “secretive” signing of Brexit deal

A row has blown up between Brussels-based journalists and the European Commission press service. The Brexit agreement, which will go before the European Parliament on Wednesday, was signed last night by the Presidents of the European Commission and European Council, Ursula van der Leyen and Charles Michel – but it was done behind closed doors. Only photos and video provided by the Commission’s own media team were provided and the media were excluded, despite multiple requests. The issue is to be raised with the European Ombudsman, despite the explanation put forward by Commission spokesperson Eric Mamer…
