Ireland among the highest solid fuel users in Europe

Ireland is the second highest user of solid fuel such as coal and wood in the European Union.

New figures from Eurostat show that at 50 per cent, we are also the second highest consumer of oil.

Grace Bolton is head of Press with the European Commission Representation in Ireland.

She says the figures show Irish people are also the second lowest users of renewable energy across the 27 member-States.
