Irish population to grow exponentially in the next 50 years

The population of Ireland is projected to grow to 6.5 million by 2070.

A new EU report on demographic change reveals that the overall European population is projected to decline progressively after 2030.

The number of people over 65 across the EU will rise from 20 per cent in 2020 to 30 per cent by 2070.

According to Grace Bolton of the European Commission, the median age in Ireland will also rise significantly in the next 50 years…
