MEPs seek better consumer protection in age of AI

The European Parliament has taken steps to improve consumer and patient protection in the growing use of artificial intelligence. The chair of the Internal Market committee, Belgian Green MEP Petra Desutter, said that everything has changed since consumer protection laws were introduced 35 years ago and they must be updated. The Committee voted overwhelmingly in favour of making the rules clearer and safer in a modern AI marketplace…
