Slovakia delegation’s Taiwan visit welcomed by MOFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sincerely welcomed the six-day visit by a 43-member Slovak delegation, 5 December, on behalf of the government and people of Taiwan. Led by State Secretary of Slovakia’s Ministry of Economics, Karol Galek, the delegation is the largest and highest-ranking from Slovakia to visit Taiwan since it first established an office in Taiwan.
Foreign Minister Jaushieh Joseph Wu hosted the group at a welcome banquet, 6 December, during which he noted that Taiwan-Slovakia relations are going from strength to strength and thanked the Central European nation for its donation of COVID-19 vaccines earlier in the year. The two sides also signed the Protocol of The 1st Session of The Taiwanese-Slovak Commission on Economic Cooperation, 9 December. The agreement ensures the establishment of a mechanism for future exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and Slovakia across many fields. Furthermore, the delegation signed a total of nine Memorandums of Understanding during their visit.
