Volodymyr Zelenskiy was informed on Tuesday (3 January) by Sunak's office that Rishi Sunak, the British prime minister, told him that Ukraine's president can count on Britain for long-term support following recent drone attacks.

"The leaders discussed drone attacks on Ukraine in the recent days," a spokesperson stated in a statement after the leaders had spoken earlier in the day.

"The prime minister stated that Ukraine could depend on the UK for support over the long-term, as shown by the recent delivery more than 1,000 anti-air missiles."
