A conference with national parliaments on the Future Financing of the European Union will take place in the European Parliament premises in Brussels on 7-8 September. The conference will be an important milestone in the work of the High Level Group on Own Resources, providing the forum for an in-depth discussion with national parliaments on how the EU should be financed in the future.

The Conference will bring together Members of national parliaments and of the European Parliament, the European institutions and the members of the High Level Group on Own Resources. They will debate and assess key issues of European public finance and in particular the future of the financing of the European Union budget.

The conference will be broadcast via EP Live and EbS.

European Commission Vice President Kristalina Georgieva responsible for Budget & Human Resources and the Chairman of the High Level Group on Own Resources Mario Monti will give a joint press conference on Thursday 8 September at 13h30 (live broadcast here).
