Affordable Medicines Europe, the association representing independent distribution in the pharmaceutical supply chain, has welcomed Margriet Keijzer (pictured) as its new Secretary General on 23 September.

Affordable Medicines Europe's President, Jorg Geller, said: "It is with great pleasure I can announce we have our new Secretary General Margriet Keijzer in place. Mrs. Keijzer brings more than 20 years Brussels experience and a proven track-record."

Background
Margriet has a strong background in EU institutions, having advised on international trade at the European Parliament and worked on internal market policies at the European Commission. Her expertise extends to representing the retail and parcel distribution sectors, where she has effectively advocated for industry interests and navigated complex regulatory environments.

Representing independent distribution
"I am honoured to join Affordable Medicines Europe at such an important moment," said Margriet Keijzer. "As independent distributors of pharmaceutical products, we play an important part in the European pharmaceutical market, making medicines more affordable for European healthcare systems and patients. I look forward to championing our industry's voice in the European pharmaceutical policy debates."

Geller added: "Margriet's deep understanding of EU dynamics, coupled with her strategic insight, makes her a valuable asset in shaping policy and fostering collaboration across stakeholders."
