The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control over Etix Group SA (“Etix”) of Luxembourg by Colony Capital, Inc. of the U.S. and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (“PSP”) of Canada. Etix is active in the provision of data centre services in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Colony Capital is an investment management firm active in global real estate. PSP is a pension investment manager with a diversified global portfolio. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given that Etix has negligible actual or foreseen activities within the territory of the European Economic Area. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. More information is available on the Commission's competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.9683.
