Taiwan film at Brussels Women’s Film Festival
The annual film festival Elles Tournent - Dames Draaien features films made by female directors from around the globe. This year, Taiwan is represented by director Cho Li and her film The Rice Bomber (2014). Based on true events, this film depicts a series of bombing events in Taiwan a decade ago, a time when the local agriculture was struggling to survive the massive overseas food imports. A rice farmer tries to grab the government’s attention by making 17 harmless rice bombs.
