On Sunday (30 October), two women glued themselves to rails surrounding a dinosaur exhibit at Berlin’s Natural History Museum. This was the latest protest by climate activists calling for the German government's increase in climate mitigation measures.

Two activists stuck themselves to the rails surrounding the skeleton, a dinosaur that lived millions of years ago. They held a banner saying: "What if it's not under control?"

"Massive climate change caused the dinosaurs to die. The same is happening to us," Caris Connell (34), said.

The Last Generation group behind the protest said Germany must immediately reduce its emissions to prevent mass extinction of species. They also called on Berlin for a speed limit on motorways.

Germany's government has set CO2 reduction targets in order to be carbon neutral by 2045, but has not established a speed limit for the country's motorway network.

The protest continued for twenty minutes, until police arrived. Another 40 minutes were needed to free the women from the handrails.

According to the Natural History Museum, it has filed a criminal complaint for property damage and trespassing.
