Matteo Messina Denaro was arrested by the Italians after spending 30 years on the run. He was "never" the sole leader of Sicilian Mafia, the chief prosecutor for Palermo Maurizio De Lucia said on Monday (16 January).
De Lucia revealed to reporters that Messina denaro was hiding in various parts of Italy for the past 30 years, including Sicily.
At the same news conference General Pasquale Angelosanto, a member of the ROS special forces unit of the Carabinieri Police, stated that Messina denaro was wearing a €35,000 euro watch when officers arrested him.
