Biden says he is worried Putin does not have a way out of Ukraine war
US President Joe Biden said on Monday (9 May) that he was concerned that Russian President Vladimir Putin doesn't have a way out of the Ukraine war. Biden said that he was trying figure out how to fix that.
Biden spoke at a fundraiser in Washington suburbs and said that Putin mistakenly believed that the invasion of Ukraine would end NATO and the European Union.
Instead, the United States of America and European countries have rallied behind Ukraine.
In March, strong Ukrainian resistance repelled Russia's attack on Kyiv. Russia, calling the invasion "a special army operation," sent more troops to Ukraine last month for an offensive in the east. However, its gains were slow.
Biden stated that Putin is very calculated and that he is worried that Putin "doesn’t have a way to escape right now."
