Savchenko-ukraineOn 9 March, a worldwide action will take place to protest the illegal abduction, and farcical trial of Nadiya Savchenko, the Ukrainian military officer, and Member of Parliament, by the Russian regime.

On 7 March, in the Belgian city of Antwerp, a multi-national preliminary action took place, where Belgian, Ukrainian, Russian, Belorussian and other nationalities joined together to protest this crime of the Russian regime that offends all sensibilities, and which is an affront to international law, and to the very concept of basic human rights.

Members of the public signed to state their support.

In the city of Antwerp there is a vibrant Ukrainian community, which has integrated well over many decades, to become an integral part of one of the most dynamic and cosmopolitan communities in Europe.

The date of 9 March was chosen, as this is the day when the show trial of Miss Shavchenko, which was abruptly halted last week just moments before she was due to give her own statement, will resume.
