Ukrainian film director and human rights activist Oleg Sentsov will be in Parliament on 26 November to pick up the 2018 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.

When Parliament’s human rights prize was awarded last year, Sentsov was in prison for protesting Russia’s annexation of his native Crimea on Independence Square in Kiev.

Released in September as part of a prisoner exchange deal, he will now be presented the prize at a ceremony in Strasbourg on 26 November.
