European Parliament today: Ukraine, youth unemployment, cross-border tracking of traffic offenders

Developments in Ukraine, attempts by world’s leaders to reach a peace deal with Vladimir Putin and priorities for the next Council summit as regards the new sanctions against Russia will be debated by MEPs with the EU's Foreign Affairs chief Mogherini late in the afternoon.

Debate on front-loading funds to fight youth unemployment
The latest plan to make €1 billion in Youth Employment Initiative funding available in 2015 – i.e. much sooner than first foreseen - will be debated with Commissioner Marianne Thyssen at 10h. It would entail amending European Social Fund rules before this summer, in order to help EU member states’ efforts to get 650,000 young people into work.
