G7 finance ministers are ready for forceful response to Russian aggression against Ukraine
G7 finance ministers issued a statement to underlie their readiness to act swiftly and decisively to support the Ukrainian economy should there be further military aggression by Russia against Ukraine.
“We are united in our resolve to protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity as well as economic and financial stability of Ukraine.”
Ministers also pointed to the role of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) through its “stand-by arrangement” to provide significant financial support to Ukraine.
Since 2014, the combined bilateral and multilateral economic support has exceeded $48 billion.
