Commission opens applications for 4th EU Organic Awards
The Commission has opened applications to reward actors along the organic value chain who develop projects that improve the production and consumption of organic food. From 11 February to 27 April 2025, any EU actor or institution with a leading project that contributes to greater accessibility and better pricing of organic products in the EU can apply in the following six categories: best organic farmer (woman and man), best organic region/biodistrict, best organic city, best small or medium-sized organic food processor, best organic food retailer, best organic restaurant/catering service.
Agriculture and Food Commissioner Christophe Hansen (pictured) said: "Organic farming is a key part of sustainable and resilient food production. The EU Organic Awards celebrate the work and innovation of those who are leading this transformation. I invite organic enthusiasts to apply and share their projects. The achievements we will reward this year will inspire people to continue shaping the future of organic farming in the European Union."
Organic farming is essential to protect our environment, the climate, biodiversity and animal welfare. By providing high-quality food with a minimal environmental footprint, organic farming is essential to the development of sustainable food systems across the EU.
