Hello there: Europeans wake up to cheaper international phone calls
SHARE:

From 15 May, calls between EU countries are capped at 19 cents per minute and text messages at six cents.
While prices for phone calls have dropped steadily over the past years and the EU has already abolished roaming charges, the cost of phone calls to other EU countries continued to be high. That is now in the past with new rules on international phone calls kicking in on 15 May.
The new prices of international phone calls are a part of the European Electronic Communications Code that MEPs adopted on 14 November 2018. Cheaper phone calls are a part of a digital market strategy that wants to ensure all Europeans, regardless of location or income, are able to participate in the digital economy and society.
