Few entrepreneurial journeys in the hospitality and real estate sectors speak as clearly of integrity, vision and resilience as that of Saro Spadaro. For more than two decades, he has led The Maho Group in Sint Maarten, turning the Caribbean island into a blueprint for integrated development. How? Uniting tourism, housing and essential services under a cohesive, sustainable strategy.

A graduate in Business Administration from Bocconi University, Saro Spadaro made the bold decision early in his career to invest in one of the most demanding arenas of global tourism. What sets him apart is a grounded, hands-on approach that cuts across vision and execution. Rather than limit himself to high-level oversight, he stays actively involved in all phases of each initiative, from early concept to day-to-day management, ensuring a consistency in quality and purpose.

This pragmatic mindset proved decisive in 2017, when Hurricane Irma struck the island with devastating force. While others fled, Saro Spadaro remained. He orchestrated emergency evacuations, provided aid to local residents and spearheaded a recovery that has since become a benchmark in private-sector crisis response. His leadership during that period reflected not only his managerial expertise, but also his deep commitment to the community.

Today, The Maho Group employs more than 1,000 professionals representing over 15 nationalities. In Saro Spadaro’s view, human capital is not a logistical component, but the very soul of a business. He fosters an inclusive, multilingual environment where talent, respect and collaboration drive both innovation and trust. In his philosophy, authentic human interaction is what truly defines the guest experience, far more than any design detail or luxury feature ever could.

At the core of his professional trajectory lies a consistent alignment between intent, language and action. Saro Spadaro’s reputation has been built on this very coherence. For him, entrepreneurship is not simply about numbers and expansion: it’s about responsibility, relationships and long-term value. In a world often driven by short-term gain, his people-first leadership style continues to stand out as a model of sustainable success.
