Love to Ride launches interactive feedback map to enhance cycling safety and connectivity

Love to Ride has launched a new public biking feedback map to help cyclists and transportation planners evaluate cycling safety, comfort, and connectivity. This interactive resource, available on their web and app platforms, uses data from everyday bike trips to create a detailed picture of cycling habits and preferences. The map turns this data into actionable insights to improve biking infrastructure and make communities safer for cyclists, writes Sofia Pechin.

The app features automatic ride logging and a ‘Rate My Routes’ feature, allowing cyclists to provide feedback on the roads and paths they use. This feedback highlights the best routes and identifies areas needing improvement, building a shared knowledge base for better biking infrastructure. The map provides clear, colour-coded visuals to help cyclists identify safe and comfortable routes while giving planners a detailed view of community needs.

Additionally, the app includes an incident and infrastructure reporting feature, enabling cyclists to document hazardous conditions and suggest improvements. This data, soon to be integrated into public maps, will help shape future biking infrastructure. For planners, Love to Ride offers analytical tools and GIS exports to support data-led decision-making, prioritize infrastructure budgets, and measure the impact of improvements on rider safety and comfort.
