It’s Gender Equality Week at the European Parliament. Also on the agenda are cybersecurity, misuse of EU funds and the digital sector, EU affairs.

European Gender Equality Week

Parliament holds the second European Gender Equality Week on 25-28 October with many committees holding discussions and public hearings addressing gender equality.

Cybersecurity

The members of the industry committee will vote on new rules to strengthen the EU's cybersecurity, including stricter enforcement and harmonized sanctions across the Union on Thursday (28 October) while the internal market committee will assess digital services and digital market rules on Wednesday (27 October).

European Social Security Number

Today (26 OCtober) the employment committee will vote on the introduction of a European social security number. This initiative aims to support fair labour mobility while making social security rights more visible and accessible, including digitally.

Misuse of EU funds

Also on Tuesda, the budgetary control committee will vote on a report on the impact of organised crime on the EU's own resources and on the misuse of EU funds.

UN climate change conference

A delegation from the European PArliament will attend the COP26 UN climate change conference, opening in Glasgow on 31 October. Ahead of the conference, MEPs called for more ambitious global emission reductions.
