‘We know that the Kremlin is not Russia. We know that Putin is not the Russian people’
Spokesperson Peter Stano delivered the message at today’s midday briefing in the European Commission’s Berlaymont building, paying tribute to the 1000s of Russian citizens, women and men who took to the streets in dozens of cities of the Russian Federation yesterday.
Stano said: "They calmly expressed their opposition against the aggressive war against their brotherly nation in Ukraine and to express their support for peace.
Stano said: “To these brave Russian citizens, I would like to say we know that the Kremlin is not Russia. We know that Putin is not the Russian people”. He also delivered the message in Russian.
