Russia says Britain's foreign minister yet to answer for supporting Kyiv
Maria Zakharova, Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, said that James Cleverly, the British foreign minister, has yet to answer why he supported Kyiv.
Cleverly said on Monday (16 January) that he was sanctioned by the Russian government. He also said that if that were his price for supporting Ukraine, he would be happy to be sanctioned.
Zakharova posted on Telegram: "Dear James. You don't understand. This is to support the anti-Russian course, and personal sanctions. You still have to answer for your support of the Kyiv government and neo-Nazism."
Russia claimed that Ukraine's invasion was a war against Nazism, but Kyiv and its allies claim this is a fabrication used to justify an imperialist land grab.
Britain announced on Saturday (14 January) that it will send 14 main battle tanks Challenger 2, as well as other advanced artillery support, to Ukraine in what could be the first Western-made tank shipment.
