Ukraine receives $1.5 billion in new financial aid, prime minister says

On Saturday (16 September), Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine's prime minister thanked the United States for their support following Ukraine receiving an additional $1.5 billion in international financial aid.
"A grant of $1.5bn was given to Ukraine's state budget. Shmyhal tweeted that this is the final tranche of $4.5bn aid from the United States via @WorldBank Trust Fund.
He stated that the funds would be used for budget expenses to pay pension payments and programmes of social assistance.
