According to the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, after the deterioration of the situation in Ukraine, the Uzbek authorities promptly set up work to remove their citizens from the combat zone.

As of March 4, 11 flights were organized and 2,579 citizens of Uzbekistan were evacuated from Ukraine through the airport in Katowice (Poland). Three additional flights from Katowice are expected in the coming days.

Most of the returnees are women with children, as well as students and employees of companies located on the territory of Ukraine. All repatriation flights are carried out free of charge.

At present, more than 1,480 fellow citizens are on the territory of Poland, of which 700 people are located in the accumulation zone of the state border of Poland, and 780 people - at the Katowice airport.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine, despite the hostilities, continues to work on the evacuation of citizens. Uzbek diplomats in Poland deal with the organizational issues of arriving citizens and coordinate their collection at the airport. Food and, if necessary, medical services are organized for them. Diplomatic missions work around the clock to receive citizens.

The administration of Katowice organized a convenient procedure for entering the airport building and registering passengers. The process is controlled by the police and local volunteers. Special corridors have been created for women with children and the elderly.

Realizing the desire of fellow citizens to quickly return to their homeland, the Uzbek authorities ask all compatriots to remain calm, not to panic, not to succumb to provocations and conflict situations.
