Work-based learning to help low-qualified adults
Cedefop has published its briefing note Return to learning, return to work, which explores how properly targeted and designed work-based training programmes can address the employment needs of low-qualified adults.
Some 70.7 million people across Europe aged 25 to 64 are defined as low-qualified, i.e. with at most lower secondary education. This skill group has experienced a greater rise in unemployment since 2008 than any other.
A recent Cedefop study assesses the training programmes currently on offer and suggests ways of making work-based learning for low-qualified adults more effective.
The briefing note is available in nine languages (Spanish, German, Greek, English, French, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish and Portuguese) and in two formats (pdf or e-book optimised for tablets and smartphones) here.
