PM candidate Leadsom says parliament cannot stop #Brexit
Andrea Leadsom (pictured), one of the candidates vying to replace Prime Minister Theresa May, said on Tuesday (11 June) that the British parliament could not stop Brexit taking place on 31 October, writes Elizabeth Piper.
“In all circumstances we are leaving the European Union on 31 October this year,” she said. “I do not think that parliament actually has the ability to prevent us leaving at the end of October which is the legal default position.”
