Sassoli: #FriendsOfFootball with #UEFA to kick out hate
UEFA used the opportunity to highlight the various football projects it is running to help young immigrants and refugees integrate in Europe. “These are vital projects”, said Sassoli, “Football is a way of bringing people together, having fun and sharing experiences. It can be a powerful tool for integration, helping girls and boys who have faced traumatic experiences to find support and solidarity through sports.
"For this reason, the European Parliament is ready to support all of UEFA's integration programmes and create a Friends of Football Group among European Parliamentarians, in co-operation with UEFA's activities. Let's kick out hate!"
