Taiwanese in Belgium hold New Year flag-raising ceremony in Brussels
On the first day of 2014, the gloomy weather did not curb the enthusiasm of some 80 overseas Taiwanese who came to the Sun Yat-Sen School in Brussels to take part in a flag-raising ceremony welcoming the new year.
Dr. Wan-li Wang, deputy representative of the Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium, accompanied by his colleagues, also attended the ceremony and seized the opportunity to reflect on Taiwan’s past accomplishments and future challenges. Afterwards, the gathered crowd proposed a toast to the continued prosperity of the Republic of China at the start of the 103rd year of the Republic of China’s calendar.
