Each year, the European Maritime Day welcomes Europe’s maritime community and policymakers to discuss, debate and exchange best practices. The 2014 Conference will be held in Bremen (DE) on 19-20 May 2014 with a focus on innovation and maritime technologies.

High-level sessions and stakeholder workshops, as well as exhibitions, public happenings and networking events, will be organised.

The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) will be represented by its president, Annika Annerby Jansson, president of the Regional Council of Skåne (SE) who will take part in the plenary session “A maritime vision for innovation: lessons from European Maritime Day”, speaking together with both DG MARE and DG ENVI Directors General Lowri Evans and Karl Falkenberg, as well as Gesine Meissner MEP.

As one of the main stakeholders, the CPMR will also participate in two workshops: Opportunities for blue and sustainable growth in the North Sea Region organized by the CPMR North Sea Commission and Regional clusters working together for innovation in SMEs and Blue Growth, where Christophe Clergeau, 1st vice president Region Pays de la Loire, member of the CPMR Political Bureau and leader of the group 'Maritime industries for blue growth' will be one of the main speakers.
