Picture perfect: Winners of Parliament's guest photographer contest
Gábor Szellő and Alessandra Giansante are the winners of the European Parliament's guest photographer contest. The competition took place from January until May with one theme per month. The 10 best entries were selected each month and published on our social media platforms. A panel of experts selected Szellő as the jury winner while Giansante was elected public winner after her pictures received the most likes in the Guest Photographer albums on Facebook and Flickr.
Alessandra Giansante (32) is a graphic designer and photographer. She inherited her passion for photography from her father. "I like to play with different points because it can bring a memory of a moment to mind," says Alessandra. Both photos illustrating this article were sent in for the April topic 'Plastic Bags'.
The winners will be invited to the Strasbourg plenary session of July, where they will create a photo reportage with their unique view on the Parliament, which will publish the results on their Facebook and Flickr pages.
