EU flagsSocial exclusion, European unemployment benefit and labour mobility are the central issues at the informal meeting on employment continuing in Milan today (18 July).

The 28 employment ministers of the EU met in Milan on Thursday 17 July and continue today with their discussions about the development of Europe 2020 in contrasting poverty and social exclusion. Labour mobility and the hypothesis of a European unemployment subsidy are among the key topics Minister Poletti will bring to the attention of his European colleagues.

Today, at Mico Conference Centre in Piazzale Carlo Magno, Milan from 9h30 to 11h, ministers will take part in two workshops dedicated to labour mobility, automatic stabilizers and the European subsidy scheme. A subsequent plenary session on social economy will take place at 11:30 A.M. The press conference of Minister Poletti and Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion Commissioner László Andor is scheduled to take place at 13h.
