MEPs debate European Year for Development 2015
Plans for the European Year for Development (EYD 2015), aiming to show how development co-operation benefits both rich and poor and help shape the global development agenda for the next 15 years, were debated in plenary on Wednesday (14 January) with High Representative Federica Mogherini (pictured) and the Council.
The EYD 2015, launched on 9 January in Riga (Latvia) under the banner 'Our world, our dignity, our future', also marks the end of the Millennium Development Goals agreed at the UN in 2000. A new set of global development goals for the next 15 years is to be decided in September in New York.
