State and future of the EU focus of #EuropeanParliament plenary session in Strasbourg
Two days ahead of the informal meeting of the EU heads of state and government (without the United Kingdom) in Bratislava, the European Parliament will hold the annual debate on the State of the European Union with Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Strasbourg.
The debate is likely to focus on migration, jobs, terrorism, Brexit and to address the core demands of EU citizens. The debate will start at 9h on Wednesday, 14 September, and take up the entire morning. Related press briefings and press conferences will be set up before and following the debate. A media advisory with more technical details will be sent on Monday 5 September.
Since 2010, the annual State of the European Union speech and debate have kick-started the discussions on the EU’s political agenda for the year.
