Mogherini says she stressed: “Sustainable security and stability can only be achieved when human rights are fully available, implemented and upheld.” She also raised concerns over a law governing the work of non-government organizations in Egypt.

EU and #Egypt agree framework for co-operation in coming years
The European Union and Egypt have pledged to work together to develop the country’s economy, promote stability, counter extremism and manage migrant flows.
EU-Egypt association Council approved on Tuesday (25 July) the Egyptian-European partnership priorities for the coming three years.
The partnership’s priorities aim to address common challenges، promote mutual interests and ensure long-term stability on both sides of the Mediterranean.
Moreover، the Euro-Egyptian partnership priorities are guided by a joint commitment to the universal values of democracy، the rule of law، and the respect of Human rights.
The partnership priorities include three main fields as follows; Egypt’s sustainable modern economy، and social development، promoting stability، and partnership in foreign policy، according to a statement issued by EU Embassy in Cairo.
Noteworthy، Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed to Brussels to participate in the seventh EU-Egypt Association Council on Monday، which is being held for the first time since April 2010.
EU High Representative Federica Mogherini (pictured) met with Shoukry and agreed on issues to focus on over the coming three years of the bilateral relationship between the EU and Egypt. Egypt is an important strategic partner for the EU in countering terrorism, controlling flows of migrants from the Mideast and Africa heading to Europe.
