#JuniperFalcon2019 Begins
US European Command (USEUCOM) and the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) are conducting the bilateral exercise Juniper Falcon 2019 from 7-14 February.
The exercise is designed to enhance our interoperability between both nations' militaries and ensure our men and women are ready and prepared for any contingency, particularly those of ballistic missile defense and crisis response.
Juniper Falcon, in keeping with the long-standing strategic partnership, is planned well in advance as part of a routine training cycle designed to improve cooperation. The exercise has been in planning since early 2018 and is not tied to any real world events.
US European Command is one of two US forward-deployed geographic combatant commands whose area of focus spans across Europe, portions of Asia and the Middle East, the Arctic and Atlantic oceans. The command is comprised of more than 60,000 military and civilian personnel and is responsible for US defence operations, relations with NATO and 51 countries.
