#Eurocities - Mayors’ summit on future of Europe
While national leaders discuss the future of Europe at the European Council summit, European mayors will gather in Brussels to launch a city leaders’ agenda for Europe.
It is a critical time for Europe, ahead of the European elections. The success or failure of European dreams will be decided by our cities’ ability to implement policy locally.
Our engagement with citizens can bridge the gap between EU decision makers and people. Our capacity to tackle climate change is critical to achieving the goals of the Paris agreement. Our attractiveness to businesses, labour and investment are essential to Europe’s prosperity. Our public spending power and ability to make investments are drivers for transformation. Our ability to manage the digital transformation is vital for a more dynamic and inclusive Europe.
That’s why EUROCITIES city leaders are sending a wake up call to EU and national leaders: Work with cities, work with citizens, work with us!
