The EU and the UN co-chaired the third Brussels Conference on Supporting the future of Syria and the region on 12-14 March. 57 countries and more than 20 international organisations and UN agencies participated in the conference.
The delegation of Kazakhstan was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi (pictured).
DFM Tleuberdi spoke about the importance of supporting the peaceful future of Syria and the region. He also highlighted the Astana peace process, a set of initiatives and plans to resolve the Syrian Civil War. "Thanks to the continued mutual efforts of the Astana peace process, which seeks to complement the UN-led intra-Syrian talks in Geneva, we can state with confidence that the long running Syrian civil war has passed its peak," said Tleuberdi.
