A team of medical experts from Lithuania is on their way to Armenia, mobilized via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The team consists of volunteers and members of the Lithuanian coronavirus crisis management team who will work alongside their Armenian colleagues to fight the virus for an initial 14 days. Crisis Management Commissioner Janez Lenarčič, Commissioner said: “The EU remains committed to supporting Armenia and partners in the region as they tackle the coronavirus pandemic. I am grateful to Lithuania for helping our neighbours in Armenia. This is true European solidarity in action. The EU stands ready to channel further offers of assistance.” The EU Civil Protection Mechanism has already co-ordinated the delivery of assistance to 16 countries during this pandemic.
