Bubbles come to Brussels – welcome to the city’s newest attraction

Fancy escaping from the mundane realities of life?

If so, a brand new attraction in Brussels could be right up your street.

It is called the “Bubble Planet Experience” and this is something that will appeal to both the young and old.

Visitors are immersed in a “festive and colourful world” and, no, this is not Christmas come early but a “journey” into the world of…bubbles.

The innovative and novel attraction, spread across several ultra-modern themed rooms, immerses participants with giant ball pools along with a hot air balloon flight simulator and various digital devices.

One room is called “Bubble Ocean” while another is the “Infinity Room” whose mirrors create an illusion of an infinite space. 

The “Cloud Room”, one of 11 in the complex, is a relaxation area where you can chill on cosy inflatable clouds.The “Bubble Getaway”, meanwhile, is a sensory playground featuring an innovative robot capable of producing a multitude of bubbles of different sizes and shapes.

Visitors can also engage with an interactive floor screen while the “VR Room” takes you on a virtual journey to the heart of an imaginary land.

The whole concept is intended to be a blend science and fun, technology and games, and it all takes places under a vast 3,000m2 tent at the city’s Tour&Taxis venue.

It seeks to be an “immersive experience” which combines the world of bubbles with state-of-the-art technologies.

The brains behind this unusual new attraction in the city is Exhibition Hub, a Brussels-based company that has been breathing a fresh wind of creativity into the market for immersive experiences for almost 10 years.

Successfully exporting several exhibitions beyond Belgium’s borders and contributing to raising the country’s profile on the international scene, Exhibition Hub has established itself as far as the USA with “Van Gogh – The Immersive Experience” in 15 major American cities.

For the Bubble Planet Experience it has worked in tandem with Fever, a leading platform in the entertainment and leisure sector.

Mario Iacampo, founder of Exhibition Hub, said they wanted “Bubble Planet” to be accessible to people of all ages, adding, “It is an adventure where everyone will find lots of pleasure.”

According to the exhibition designer the aim is to “provide an escape from the mundane realities of life.”

It is something certainly very different – described as being “dedicated to the fascinating world of bubbles” – and has already proved a hit in Los Angeles with over 100,000 visitors.

The Brussels version opened on 20 July and the owners are hoping for a similar success on home soil.
