Palestine workshop on Horizon Europe

On 29 April, the Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Palestine held a workshop to raise the awareness of Palestinian scientists about collaboration opportunities with their EU counterparts under Horizon Europe.

The workshop was opened by Dr Basri Saleh, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Palestine and Nienke Buisman, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Commission. The workshop was well attended with over 150 participants representing different Palestinian entities and presented the new work programme 2025 and calls relevant to Mediterranean priorities, expected to be fully adopted on1 2 May.

Buisman invited Palestinian colleagues to explore opportunities under the work programme following today’s workshop.  So far, four Palestinian entities participated in Horizon Europe and received an EU contribution of close to €400 K. Those include Arab American University, Pal-think for Strategic Studies, Al Quds University and Berzeit University.
