Commission receives Portugal's sixth payment request for €1.67 billion under the Recovery and Resilience Facility
On 14 November, the Commission received the sixth payment request from Portugal for €1.67 billion (net of pre-financing), of which €1.32bn in grants and €0.35bn in loans, under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
Portugal's payment request concerns 22 milestones and eight targets.
It covers reforms that enhance the competences and effectiveness of public administration, a new management accounting plan for the National Health Service, and a revised legal framework for insolvency and recovery for businesses.
The request also covers important investments in the areas of social services, clean mobility and energy efficiency in residential buildings. An increase in renewable electricity production in the Autonomous Regions, and the digitalization of the school system and the business sector are also included among the investments.
The Commission will now assess the request and will then send its preliminary assessment of Portugal's fulfilment of the milestones and targets required for this payment to the Council's Economic and Financial Committee.
Portugal's overall Recovery and Resilience Plan will be financed by €22.22bn, of which €16.33bn is in grants and €5.89bn is in loans. You can find more information on Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan on this page, which features an interactive map of projects financed by the RRF, as well as on the Recovery and Resilience Scoreboard. More information on the process of payment requests under the RRF can be found in this document of questions and answers.
