Commission receives the Netherlands' second payment request for €1.18 billion under the Recovery and Resilience Facility

Last Friday (13 December), the Commission received the second payment request from the Netherlands for €1.18 billion in grants, under the Recovery and Resilience Facility.

The Netherlands' second payment request concerns 15 milestones and six targets. It covers reforms such as the stimulation of the use of renewable energy through taxation adjustments, the acceleration of residential construction procedures to increase the housing supply and the establishment of a priority framework for investments to enlarge the electricity grid. The request also covers important investments in the development of skills for green hydrogen, rail traffic management, digitalization of the justice chain, up- and reskilling for the unemployed and enlargement of intensive care units of hospitals.

The Commission will now assess the Netherland's fulfilment of the milestones and targets linked to this payment request. It will then share its preliminary assessment with the Council's Economic and Financial Committee.  

The Netherlands' overall recovery and resilience plan will be financed by €5.4bn in grants. More information on the Dutch plan is available online.
