From 20 to 21 August 2025, Agriculture and Food Commissioner Christophe Hansen (pictured) is in Czechia. The visit provides an opportunity to reinforce EU co-operation with Czech authorities on key agri-food and rural development priorities, and to highlight the EU's commitment to innovation, generational renewal, and high-quality food production. Direct engagement with farmers, businesses, and local stakeholders on challenges and opportunities in the Czech agri-food sector, as well as discussions on the upcoming Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), are at the core of the mission.

Today, Commissioner Hansen is meeting with Czech Agriculture Minister Marek Výborný to discuss, among other issues, the future MFF and CAP. He will also visit the Podhradí farm, where he will meet representatives of young farmers' associations, followed by a roundtable with agricultural stakeholders, including small, medium, and large agri-businesses, to exchange views on the MFF and CAP.

On 21 August, the Commissioner will meet with leaders of parliamentary agricultural committees and will be joined by Agriculture Minister Marek Výborný at the Official Opening Ceremony of the 51st edition of the Země Živitelka agricultural fair. There, Commissioner Hansen will deliver a speech, visit a smart farming venue, and hold a press conference with the Agriculture Minister to highlight the outcomes of the visit. Finally, he will visit the Budvar Brewery alongside Minister Výborný, showcasing the Protected Geographical Indication ‘Beer from Budějovice'.
