The Commission has launched an open public consultation to gather views from across society regarding the upcoming Gender Equality Strategy for 2026-2030.

This Strategy will set out the vision for gender equality for the next five years. The Strategy will list specific actions to ensure that women and men in all their diversity can reach their full potential, without limitations such as gender stereotypes, gender gaps or gender-based violence. These actions will build on progress made through the Gender Equality Strategy 2020 - 2025 and reinforce the commitments taken in the recently published road map for women's rights.

Executive Vice President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness, Roxana Mînzatu said: “Equality doesn't happen by chance. It takes vision – and action. That's why we're inviting all Europeans to help shape the next Gender Equality Strategy with their ideas and experiences. Real progress happens when we move forward together.”

Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Commissioner Hadja Lahbib (pictured) said: “Gender equality is non-negotiable. It is a cornerstone of our Union which brings benefits to all. With the new Gender Equality Strategy 2026–2030 we aim at empowering all women and girls, walking together towards a gender-equal society in Europe and across the globe.”

The consultation will run for twelve weeks, until 11 August 2025.
